Terms of Service

Piloted (“Piloted”, “we”, “us”) is operated by an individual software founder residing and operating from India. These terms apply to the Piloted website, application, and all related features. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Piloted. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You may not share an account with another person or resell access to the service.

You retain full ownership of the syllabi, notes, and materials you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to operate Piloted for you: extracting deadlines, generating plans, and producing study resources.

You confirm that you have the right to upload each file and that doing so does not infringe the rights of your institution, instructor, or any third party.

Piloted uses artificial intelligence to read uploaded syllabus files and convert them into structured academic data. Files are transmitted over encrypted connections and processed by AI providers contractually restricted to performing this task on our behalf. Your content is not used to train general-purpose models and is not sold or published.

AI output is probabilistic. It may misread dates, omit items, or misinterpret formatting. You review the extracted results before anything is saved to your account.

Piloted offers a free tier and two paid options for the Academic Excellence Plan. Prices are listed in US dollars and exclude any taxes Paddle is required to add at checkout.

• Semester Kickstart (Free). No payment required. Includes one AI syllabus parse, an instant .ics calendar export, and a live semester preview. Parsed data on this tier is session-only unless you upgrade.
• Monthly — $19 per month. A recurring subscription. It renews automatically every month on the anniversary of your purchase date and continues to charge your payment method until you cancel. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid month already billed, and no further charges are taken.
• Semester Pass — $49 for four months. A one-time, fixed-term purchase, not a subscription. It grants full Academic Excellence Plan access for exactly four months from the date of purchase and does not renew automatically. Nothing further is charged when the four months end; your account simply returns to the free Semester Kickstart tier until you choose to buy again. Because it is billed once up front, the Semester Pass costs less than four monthly payments.

The essential difference: the $19 Monthly plan is an open-ended recurring charge you cancel when you are finished; the $49 Semester Pass is a single fixed charge covering a defined four-month window with no recurring billing and nothing to cancel.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd. Paddle handles all customer billing, payment processing, currency conversion, invoicing, and sales tax or VAT collection on our behalf.

Piloted does not store credit card details. Card numbers, CVV codes, and bank credentials are entered directly into Paddle’s PCI-DSS compliant checkout and are never transmitted to or held on our servers. We receive only your subscription status, plan type, renewal or expiry date, and a masked transaction reference. Paddle’s own buyer terms and privacy policy apply to the payment transaction itself.

Cancellations and refund requests are administered through Paddle. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from the Paddle receipt link or by contacting us. Refund requests made within 14 days of a purchase are considered in good faith, subject to Paddle’s buyer terms and applicable consumer law. Promotional or complimentary access granted through a promo code carries no monetary value and is not refundable.

You remain solely responsible for verifying every deadline against your official university sources. Piloted is a planning aid, not an authoritative record of your course requirements. Syllabi are frequently revised, deadlines are moved in class or by email, and AI extraction can misread a document.

Always confirm assignment due dates, exam times, and submission requirements with your instructor, your institution’s learning management system, or the official course documentation before relying on them. Piloted accepts no liability for missed deadlines, late submissions, grade penalties, or academic outcomes arising from reliance on generated plans, reminders, or calendar exports.

You agree not to:

• Upload unlawful material or content you have no right to share.
• Attempt to access another user’s account or data.
• Interfere with, scrape, reverse engineer, or place unreasonable load on the service.
• Use Piloted to commit academic misconduct, including submitting AI-generated material in violation of your institution’s policies.

Piloted is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work to keep the service reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, modify, or discontinue features. If we materially reduce a paid feature during a paid term, you may contact us for a pro-rated refund of the unused period.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of Piloted is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost grades, lost opportunities, or missed deadlines.

You may stop using Piloted and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence.
